BOMBO QUARRY BASALT (PORTRAIT)

from A$200.00

The Bombo headland and quarry is characterised by clusters of Late Permian hexagonal latite columns. Latite differs considerably from basalt in its higher percentage of potassium felspar, and olivine gives the columns their greenish hues. The red and orange daubs of colour grabbed my attention along with the complex fractures in the columns giving a beautiful arrangement of natural colours and textures.
